The back rack is complete with everything from pants and suits, to blouses and sweaters. | The front rack is so amazingly colorful with skirts and dresses organized by color! It is very mesmerizing to look at! |
It was a tall order - reorganizing all the costumes. So many people came through the cafeteria this week blown away by the sheer number of costumes that we are blessed to have in our costume racks. There were doubts that we would get it all done this week, but thanks to the incredible volunteers that helped pull items down, sort by type and color, and re-hang items, we got through it. The cafeteria is even back to how it should look! After a point this week where we had items on all but four tables, it now looks like we were never there. The custodians are happy to have clean spaces to move around again, I'm sure. Again, a big shout out goes to all 30 volunteers that come in and worked for 3-6 hours each to help complete this task. We have everything sorted and are ready to finish the project when more clear bins arrive, so that the final pieces can be stored completely away! You are all amazing and this could not have been down without all your continued support of the program!
Big things are happening as the week is coming to close. The front rack is nearly done and the piles in the cafeteria are shrinking fast! Only a little sorting left before we are packing the rest into bins for easy access. We can not thank all the volunteers that are giving their time to come help!
Thanks to so many volunteers coming in over the past two days, we have made huge progress. Although the cafeteria might look messier now, as we continue to spread out (Big thanks to the custodians and Mr. Keene for letting us take over!), we are now onto the front racks! The back racks are fully organized, with a chart, and looking so wonderfully full! Here's to two more fun days of organizing! With many hands, it will totally get all finished!
The time has come to go through all the costumes we own and reorganize the closet. It was 6-7 years ago that the costumes moved to their current location and they were temporarily organized. 4 years ago, they were sorted (kind of) again by non-theatre people. This week, we have taken over the cafeteria and are pulling everything out, sorting, and returning everything to the closet. Many hands make light work, and Day 1 was busy. What a busy day! Thanks to all the help we had on Day 1, the back racks have been emptied off and the cafeteria is full of sorted piles. Day 2 we will start to organized the piles and return clothes upstairs to their new homes!
