Special details in musical

12/14/2018

One of the amazing things about working on all aspects of a full production is seeing all the cool details that go into putting it together.  Many of these are hidden from the audience, but now that the show is closed, we can finally share a couple of our secrets!

Prop Details!

A special "easter egg" in the show was the final flowers that Jesse brings to Winnie's grave.  They were specifically chosen as Forget-Me-Not flowers!  It is what Jesse was hoping for from Winnie and the perfect flower for him to give her.

Costume Details!

The intricate flowers on Mae's Dress were not embroidered, but hand painted by Mamma Paint.

Although we have a limited amount of time to spend in our lives, this show featured some special family history for many of our creative team.  The three outfits of the students standing belonged to Mr. Connelly's grandmother, Nana's chair belonged to Mr. Prins' father, and Nana's glasses belonged to Mrs. Gansen's grandmother.  Truly a special moment for the creative team to see their family on stage.  Family heritage passed on after the music box has played its final notes.

Congratulations to the cast, pit, and crew of Tuck Everlasting.  You packed the auditorium for two weekends and touched the lives of everyone that came.  Thank you for all your hard work to create this memorable production.  You have pushed the theatre program to be its best and left your mark for all "Time!"
